LANDIS ó The town is moving forward with an application for a beautification grant that would allow the town to restore the facade of downtown buildings and carry out streetscape projects.
The board approved to participate in the Small Town Main Street Program through the N.C. Department of Commerce, which essentially helps the town revitalize its downtown area through signage, landscaping and other improvements.
There are few communities selected for the program as only six are chosen from the state each year, said Town Manager Reed Linn.
The program also markets the town and helps with designs, designer consultations and renderings.
