Candidate forum Saturday for primary run-off

A candidate forum will be held this Saturday, June 21, for the two Democratic candidates in the primary run-off election for the U.S. Congressional District 5 currently held by Republican Virginia Foxx. Vying for the opportunity to run in November are Gardenia Henley of Winston-Salem and Josh Brannon of Vilas.
The forum will be held in Cleveland at the HUB, 613 E. Main St., from 10 a.m.-noon. Both candidates will be present along with other Democratic candidates for Rowan County offices.
Rowan County has 12 precincts in this congressional district. They are: Cleveland, Franklin, Milford Hills County, North Locke, Mt. Ulla, Scotch Irish, Steele, Unity, West Innes, North Ward, Milford Hills City and Ellis.
The Election Day has been set by the Board of Elections for Tuesday, July 15, at the above listed precinct polling places. Early voting will be available at the Rowan Public Library headquarters, 201 W. Fisher St., July 3-11, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, July 12, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Closed on July 4.
