Rowan County residents did not qualify for individual assistance for damages caused by last week’s storm, state officials said today.
In order to qualify, the area must have had at least 25 homes and/or businesses with at least 40 percent loss to the structure, and must have major damage or be destroyed, the state’s emergency management team said.
Rowan County’s damage assessment team took 36 reports of damages across Rowan after the April 5 storm. On April 7 state officials visited Rowan County to look at the number of reports and visited a few sites.
