Has Rowan County Sheriff Kevin Auten gone bald? Not yet.
Auten is challenging his office’s Relay for Life team to raise $5,000, and if they do, he will shave his head.
The campaign — Shave the Sheriff — is centered on one of his wife’s coworkers and friends, Stacey Beaver, who has breast cancer.
So far the team has received around $3,100, and has until May 13 to raise the rest.
