PHOENIX ó Jimmy Rollins homered and had three RBIs and Cole Hamels pitched seven solid innings to help Philadelphia avoid a three-game sweep.
Shane Victorino and Ryan Howard each homered, Placido Polanco had four of Philadelphia’s 12 hits and scored three runs, and Ben Francisco had a two-run double.
That was more than enough for Hamels (3-1) in his fourth straight solid start. The left-hander allowed three runs on four hits in seven innings.
Pirates 2, Giants 0
PITTSBURGH ó James McDonald pitched six sharp innings for his first victory of the season to lead Pittsburgh.
McDonald (1-2) allowed four hits and four walks while striking out three, and Chris Snyder and Jose Tabata each singled in a run for the Pirates.
Mike Crotta, Joe Beimel, Chris Resop and Joel Hanrahan completed the five-hitter. Hanrahan recorded his seventh save in seven opportunities.

WASHINGTON ó Daniel Murphy delivered a game-tying, pinch-hit homer in the eighth inning right after Jose Reyes was ruled out at third base on a disputed call, then added a two-run double in the ninth, helping New York win its sixth straight.
Cardinals 6, Astros 5
HOUSTON ó Kyle Lohse pitched another gem, Matt Holliday and Tyler Greene both homered and St. Louis held off a late rally.
Lohse (4-1) allowed four hits and pitched seven scoreless innings. Holliday had three hits and his solo shot to the Crawford Boxes in left field put St. Louis up 1-0 in the fourth.
Dodgers 5, Marlins 4, 10 innings
MIAMI ó Andre Ethier extended his hitting streak to 24 games in the fourth inning, then homered in the 10th to help Los Angeles salvage the finale of the three-game series.
Ethier’s single in the fourth extended his major league record for the longest April hitting streak. His batting average rose to .380.
Mark Guerrier (2-1) got the win and Rod Barajas hit a three-run homer for the Dodgers, who came back from a 4-0 deficit.
Reds 7, Brewers 6, 10 innings
MILWAUKEE ó Drew Stubbs hit a solo homer in the 10th inning and Joey Votto drove in four runs to lead Cincinnati.
Stubbs hit a sinker from Sergio Mitre (0-1) to put the Reds ahead for good. Cincinnati, which squandered leads of 4-0 and 6-4, got a season-high 15 hits a day after managing just two in a 3-2 loss to the Brewers.
