Shive Elementary receives $5,000 grant
Shive Elementary School has received a $5,000 Loweís Toolbox for Education grant for renovation of its playground.
The schoolís grant application was based on the goal of resurfacing the area under the equipment in the fenced playground, providing a safe, cushioned and environmentally-friendly playground for our younger students.
Funding from this grant, written by Pam Bloom and Connie McCombs, will provide recycled rubber mulch on the playground. This will allow greater access for students to be outside and exercise through play while providing a safer landing for active students.

The project is scheduled to be completed by June.
