SALISBURY — A Salisbury man is in critical condition at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte after he was stabbed and robbed around 10:15 last night while vacuuming out his car at Lancaster’s Car Wash on South Main Street.
According to police, Matthew Morris, 20, and a juvenile, were vacuuming the car when a blue minivan with a white male driver and five black males with dreadlocks pulled up next to them.
Police said one of the men punched Morris in the face, and as he was in a seated position in his car, others stabbed him in the stomach with an 8-inch knife and robbed him.
Morris was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center and then transported to Presbyterian.
Morris is a convicted felon and has served time in prison for possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
