SALISBURY — Eddie Monroe, father of fallen firefighter Justin Monroe, suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday in a motorcycle accident.

Monroe was listed in serious condition early this morning at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he underwent surgery Sunday evening.
The Salisbury Fire Department confirmed Monroe had been in a motorcycle wreck.
Justin Monroe died March 7, 2008 at age 19 while fighting the Salisbury Millwork fire. Justin was the only son of Eddie and Lisa Monroe. Victor Isler Sr. also died in the blaze, and Capt. Rick Barkley was seriously injured.
