China Grove approves first taxi business

CHINA GROVE ó The town could soon get its first taxi service. The town board granted a resident permission to begin the process of starting a taxi business.
The resident, Angelique Kuseyosolo, and her husband, Victor, were approved with the condition they obtain insurance and license under the name China Grove Taxi.
Kuseyosolo spoke to the board during its Tuesday meeting.
Angelique Kuseyosolo hopes to be located on Main Street in downtown China Grove, her husband said by phone.
The business has one car and two 15-passenger vans, but plans to expand.

Reaffirmed the town is continuing its efforts to enter into an agreement to transfer its water and sewer system to the city of Salisbury. Both the town and Salisbury have been working on a draft of the agreement.
Called for a public hearing for an annexation request on U.S. 29 at Northend Plaza. The annexation is voluntary ó the owner asked to be in the city limits. The public hearing will be held during the June meeting.
Reminded staff about the budget meeting that will be today at 5:30 p.m. at 308 E. Centerview St.
Noted that construction has begun on the fire department renovations and renovations to the former town hall are nearly complete.
