KANNAPOLIS — The N.C. Research Campus Farmers Market opens for the season Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.
In celebration, the Gem Theatre at 111 W. First St. will offer a free showing at 6 p.m. of the documentary “Fresh,” followed by a panel discussion with local thought leaders.
The farmers market, located at 200 West Ave., offers people the chance to support local growers while learning the importance of healthy, sustainable foods. Visitors also can enjoy free healthy samples from local vendors and enter to win a variety of raffle prizes.
