KANNAPOLIS — No one was seriously injured Wednesday when a school bus and another vehicle collided near 8th and Walnut streets shortly after 3 p.m.
“There were some bumps and bruises, but nobody was transported to the hospital,” Ellen Boyd, the district’s spokeswoman, said.
Boyd said the accident occurred at a “tight, narrow” curve near Woodrow Wilson Elementary School.
“The vehicle was coming one way and the bus was going the other way and they hit each other,” she said.
Superintendent Dr. Pam Cain and transportation director Will Crabtree traveled to the scene to ensure students were safe.
Boyd said the bus was not damaged in the accident.
“The same school bus took kids home after the wreck,” she said.
Emergency responders and the Kannapolis Police Department responded to the scene.
