Art on Easy Street
The Rowan Arts Council presents the eighth annual Art on Easy Street festival on Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at North Main and Liberty Streets. The festival features over 50 fine art, craft and food vendors with a day full of family entertainment.
This event showcases local and regional arts, in mediums including but not limited to artisan jewelry, hand-thrown pottery, fine visual art in the form of oil and acrylic paintings, metalsmithing and weaving.
Art on Easy Street gets underway with Keith Collins and Friends In Christ gospel performance, followed by the North Rowan High School Show Choir at 11 a.m. The live performances last all day with emcee Donald Gariepy and deejay Harold Moore playing between each live act.

Celebrate sculpture at Family Fun Day
Waterworks Visual Arts Center, in collaboration with City of Salisbury Public Art Committee, is sponsoring the eighth annual Family Fun Day at the F&M Trolley Barn on Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Admission is free to this day of hands-on art activities and artist’s demonstrations.
This year’s theme is Celebrate Sculpture. Guided by professional artists and art educators, children will be encouraged to use color, texture, and movement to create their own fun sculptures to take home.
Local artist Ray Moose will lead the children in a collaborative sculpture project which, upon completion, will be placed on display in the windows of the Empire Hotel in downtown Salisbury.
