Nearly 300 well-wishers, including North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue and Bishop Leonard H. Bolick of the N.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, gathered in Wilmington Sunday to dedicate Trinity Grove, a new, 100-bed skilled care nursing home operated by Salisbury-based Lutheran Services for the Aging (LSA).
Following a tour of the home, Perdue praised LSA’s innovation, calling Trinity Grove “the new model” for long-term care. She also lauded the organization’s creation of 120 new jobs.
Located in the Monkey Junction area of Wilmington, Trinity Grove is divided into four living areas or neighborhoods, each specially designed to feel like a true home.
The opening of Trinity Grove concluded a 30-year effort by LSA to build in Wilmington. All present for the event pronounced the home “well worth the wait.”
