Gov. Bev Perdue has appointed Angela Bullard Fox to the District Court bench for the 18th Judicial District which covers Guilford County. She will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Joseph Turner to the Superior Court.
Fox received her undergraduate and law degrees, both with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A native of Rowan County, she graduated from East Rowan High School, and she is the daughter of Joanne and Gattis Bullard.
“Angela Fox’s experience in the public and private sector has prepared her to serve on the District Court bench,” said Perdue. “I have concluded that she has the set of qualities that will best serve the citizens of Guilford County.”
Fox is in private practice in Greensboro at Fox Law, P.A, and is affiliated with the firm of Boydoh and Hale, PLLC where her practice focuses on District Court and Superior Court, the North Carolina Business Court and appellate practice. She previously has been in private practice at firms in the Greensboro area.
She started her legal career as a clerk for Judge Joseph R. John Sr. at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She is active in the community serving on the board of trustees at the Natural Science Center in Greensboro. She also volunteers in the Guilford County Schools and is a member of the Greensboro Bar Association.
She did an internship with the local firm of Woodson, Ford, Sayers, Lawther, Short, Parrott & Hudson in 1993.
In addition, she worked with Donaldson & Black in Greensboro 1996-98.
She credits her family as well as Roslyn Misenheimer, her sixth-grade teacher at Granite Quarry Elementary, with supporting her dreams to become a lawyer.
