SALISBURY — F&M Bank is marking 105 years of community banking by giving away free tickets to a Kannapolis Intimidators game.
F&M Bank opened its doors in Granite Quarry on July 15, 1909 with a mere two deposits for the day. Today, F&M Bank has 10 branches in Rowan and Cabarrus counties and a loan production office in Raleigh.
“We remember that special day,” Chairman Paul Fisher said. “We are one of only a very few banks in North Carolina who has not changed their name, sold out or otherwise merged with another institution.
“We have been true to our original intent, and that is to serve the banking needs of our local citizens.”
F&M Bank is celebrating the milestone by providing tickets to bank customers to the Aug. 2 Kannapolis Intimidators game.
“We hope to fill the stadium with our customers, enjoy great baseball and complete the celebratory night with a fireworks show,” Fisher said.
Customers can stop at any F&M branch to request tickets for the game.
