Dothan, Ala., held off Cherryville 5-4 in a first-round game in the Southeast Regional in Sumter, S.C., on Thursday.
Cherryville, the N.C. champion, plays Greenbrier, Va., today in an early elimination game. Greenbrier fell to Gaffney, S.C. 11-7 on Thursday.
In the game of the day, Bradenton, Fla., rallied for six runs in the ninth inning to beat the Puerto Rico champs 10-9.
