DAVIE, Fla. ó Reggie Bush is eager to set a good example and make up for lost time after missing the first six practices of training camp because of NFL post-lockout rules.
He was the last one off the field Friday after his second workout with the Miami Dolphins. Last week they completed a trade with New Orleans for the former Heisman Trophy winner by negotiating a new contract with him.
Also held out of practice until Thursday after signing new deals were veteran newcomers Jason Taylor, Kevin Burnett and Matt Moore.
Bush is the most celebrated addition by virtue of his success at Southern California and bursts of brilliance with the Saints. He helped them win a Super Bowl title but was never plagued by injuries and became dispensible.
EAGLES
BETHLEHEM, Pa. ó Philadelphia’s much touted free-agent class didn’t waste any time Friday.
On the field for the first time, new Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha quickly served notice, intercepting new backup quarterback Vince Young.
“It was good to get an interception on the first day,” said Asomugha, the former Oakland Raider who signed a five-year, $60 million deal last week. “You don’t know if you have your technique down, it’s been so long. That felt good.”
Joining Asomugha and Young, signed as backup to Michael Vick, on the field Friday were running back Ronnie Brown, DB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and defensive linemen Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins.

ASHBURN, VA. ó Washington’s two new defensive lineman know what’s it’s like to beat up on the Redskins.
Barry Cofield and Stepen Bowen were a combined 15-5 against the Redskins during their previous five seasons in the NFC East. Now Washington hopes they have that same type of success for them.
But after signing lucrative contracts last week that included guarantees of $25 million, nose tackle Cofield and right end Bowen now comprise two-thirds of the front of Washington’s 3-4 defense ó which allowed an NFC-high 389.3 yards per game last season.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. ó Plaxico Burress has missed his second straight practice with the New York Jets because of an ankle injury.
The wide receiver was expected to practice for the first time Thursday once the labor agreement was ratified. But he rolled his left ankle while running routes with Santonio Holmes on Wednesday. He was in uniform for Friday’s afternoon practice, as he was Thursday, but mostly as a sideline spectator.

SAN DIEGO ó One of the NFL’s elite offenses regained a big-play receiver on Friday when Malcom Floyd and the Chargers agreed on a two-year contract.
