ëMemories of Yesteryearsí Sept. 10 at Price of Freedom Museum

CHINA GROVE ó A new event, ěMemories of Yesteryears,î will combine with a barbecue cook-off Saturday, Sept. 10, at The Price of Freedom Museum, located at Weaver and Patterson roads.
Oak Grove Baptist Church is sponsoring the second annual ěBBQ Cook-Off,î while ěMemories of Yesteryearsî will be displaying restored farm equipment and old cars to go along with bluegrass and gospel music from local groups.
The museum, displaying all manner of military uniforms and artifacts, will be open, and visitors also can see the continuing restoration progress of the old Patterson School.
The event, a fundraiser for We Care Ministry and The Price of Freedom Museum, also will serve as a remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001.
The displays and museum will open at 9 a.m. Sept. 10, and the cook-off will go from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Itís a daylong event.
