Operation Medicine Drop will be held Friday at the Kannapolis Intimidators Stadium.
It is a chance dispose of unused, expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, sponsored by Safe Kids Cabarrus Coalition, Cabarrus County Sheriffs Office and Kannapolis Intimidators.
The first 20 participants dropping off medicine will receive free entry into the game and a free bag of cotton candy. The game is set to start at 7:05 p.m., and the Intimidators will be hosting the Hagerstown Suns. Safe Kids Cabarrus will also be there hosting water safety activities for kids.
Operation Medicine Drop cannot accept biohazard materials.
Unintentional poisoning from prescription medications is on the rise in North Carolina. Since 1999, nearly 4,500 people have died from prescription poisoning. Operation Medicine Drop offers the public a free and convenient option for disposing of their prescription and over-the-counter medications to protect their families and the environment.
