SALISBURY — Mike Crowell, currently director of Salisbury’s broadband network Fibrant, is retiring after more than two decades with the city, a press release said Friday evening.
The press release did not specify a date. Crowell previously served as manager of information services.
“We appreciate all that Mike Crowell has done for the city of Salisbury over his career, especially guiding the implementation of our broadband system,” interim City Manager Doug Paris said. “We wish him the very best in the future.”
Jim Behmer, director of Salisbury-Rowan Utilities, has been named acting director of broadband services and will oversee Fibrant until Crowell’s permanent replacement is named, the press release said.
“I am honored to work with the Fibrant team,” Behmer said. “The staff offers tremendous knowledge, invaluable experience, and a strong sense of teamwork. Each Fibrant employee is sincerely committed to providing excellent customer service.”
