The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education will hear an update on the latest central office proposal during their meeting at 5 p.m. Monday.
Superintendent Dr. Judy Grissom and Randy Hemann, executive director of Downtown Salisbury Inc., will make the presentation.
The plan is for the lease/purchase agreement for a new building on South Main Street in downtown Salisbury.
ěI am excited about this proposal because it gets the RSSS into a building with no money up front and yet they are not wasting money on a lease because they will get the benefit of all the principal reduction while leasing,î Hemann said.
The school board will also:
Receive an update about the maintenance process, responses and reports for Knox Middle School.
Vote on the annual budget resolution.
Hear the first reading of a policy pertaining to head injuries in athletes.
Receive an update on the districtís efforts to improve literacy.
The school board meets at the Long Street Administrative Office at 110 S. Long St. in East Spencer.
