SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ó Police interviewed witnesses and looked for suspects Sunday after two men were shot and wounded following a San Francisco 49ers-Oakland Raiders preseason game, while the NFL and the mayors of the two cities jointly called for an end to ěintimidationî and acts of violence at sporting events.
Saturday nightís shooting in the parking lot at Candlestick Park evoked memories of another recent disturbing act of postgame violence involving two rival California pro sports teams ó the near-fatal beating this spring of a San Francisco Giants fan outside Dodger Stadium.
In Saturdayís attacks, a 24-year-old man, who reportedly was wearing a ěFó- the Ninersî T-shirt, remained hospitalized in serious condition Sunday after being shot several times in the stomach. He managed to stumble to Candlestick Park stadium security for help despite the severe injuries, police said.
A second victim, a 20-year-old man, was treated for less serious wounds in a separate shooting, also after the game.
LSU FIGHT
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) ó Four LSU football players hired a defense attorney and put off a meeting with police about a bar fight that started when a patron honked at a crowd blocking his exit from a parking lot, Baton Rouge police said Sunday.
Quarterback Jordan Jefferson, offensive lineman Chris Davenport, defensive lineman Josh Johns and receiver Jarvis Landry had been asked to give their side of the story at police headquarters Monday, but attorney Nathan Fisher asked for a delay, Sgt. Donald Stone said.
Fisher requested ěa 24-hour postponement so that he can meet with the players and get a better understanding of the incident,î he wrote in a news release. He said police would speak with Fisher on Monday to arrange the interviews.
COLLEGE HOOPS
MEMPHIS, Tenn. ó Los Angeles forward Luke Walton will be working as an assistant to Memphis coach Josh Pastner in a deal that ends along with the NBA lockout.
His father, Bill, has his own history with Memphis. Bill Walton scored 44 points on 21 of 22 shooting to beat then-Memphis State 87-66 in the 1973 NCAA tournament championship.

MASON, Ohio ó Novak Djokovicís remarkable winning streak ended with a grimace, one that puts a new spin on the U.S. Open.
The worldís top-ranked player was forced to retire in the second set Sunday because of a sore right shoulder, giving Andy Murray the championship at the Western & Southern Open.
It was the Serbís first bad moment in his 57-2 season. Djokovic had won 16 consecutive matches since his only previous loss of the season in the semifinals against Roger Federer on June 3 at Roland Garros.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. ó Three-time Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Calvin Borel has been arrested on a drunken driving charge in Indiana.
The 44-year-old Louisville, Ky., resident was released on $100 bond Sunday morning from the Vanderburgh County Jail in Evansville after being arrested the night before. He was due in court Monday.
LITTLE LEAGUE
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. ó Slugger Jake Fromm came through in the clutch again for Georgia at the Little League World Series.
The 13-year-old ace from Warner Robins hit a line-drove homer to highlight a three-run ninth, then returned to the mound in the bottom of the inning to finish off LaGrange, Ky., in an 8-5 victory. He fanned 10.
