SALISBURY ó Come and ěExplore the Treasures of 4-H!î 4-H is the North Carolina Cooperative Extensionís youth development program for youth ages 5-18. We provide youth with opportunities that will enable them to prepare for an employable future, nurture a healthy lifestyle and enable them to strengthen civic responsibility through leadership and volunteerism. Through these program areas we reach youthís four Hís: Head, Heart, Hands and Health.
ěExploring the Treasures of 4-Hî is open to youth in second through fourth grades, and their parents, who are either new to 4-H or want to learn more. The dates of the workshop are Sept. 6, 12, 13, 26, 27 and Oct. 3. It will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. each night at the Agricultural Center, 2727 Old Concord Road, Salisbury. The cost for the workshop is $10. Space is limited and you must register by calling 704-216-8970 by Thursday, Sept. 1.
During the six-week session, youth will explore 4-H, their interests, their community and what 4-H has to offer by participating in hands-on activities. Current 4-H members, leaders and parents will share their experiences with 4-H, as well.
4-H knows your family is important to you. We encourage family involvement in 4-H. It is not just a youth organization, it’s a family organization.
