Cleveland Affordable Accounting & Tax Solutions grand opening Saturday

CLEVELAND — Affordable Accounting & Tax Solutions, located at 11713 Statesville Blvd. in Cleveland, will hold its Grand Opening on Saturday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The new family owned and operated business includes Saundra Bradshaw Hoffner, EA; Brandi Lee Sloop, EA; and Don Byerly, EA, all formerly with Affordable Tax & Accounting in Salisbury.
With over 35 years of combined professional experience, they specialize in accounting, payroll, individual and business income tax preparation, representation and tax audits. In conjunction with CJ’s BBQ customer appreciation day, family friendly activities will include a bouncy house, raffle, firetruck display, crafts and face painting. The Cabarrus regional Chamber of Commerce has announced the addition of Paige Jordan as senior membership relations executive. Her first day will be Monday.
Her responsibilities include the growth of the Chamber’s membership and member engagement in the programs, events, and initiatives of the Chamber. She will also assist in the development of benefits, dues, programs and sponsorships. She will oversee the Cabarrus Connections leads group and the Ambassadors.
“Paige has a real passion for building relationships and an interest in building stronger communities,” Patrick Coughlin, president and CEO of the Chamber said. “Those things will serve her well as she works to strengthen ties between the business community and Chamber.”
Jordan comes to the Chamber from the Cato Corporation in Charlotte, where she has worked as an assistant buyer. She has a degree in business administration from Queens University in Charlotte.
Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, in association with the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, will offer a series of free pre-retirement seminars beginning in August. The seminars are intended for employees considering retirement in the near future.
Topics to be covered include retirement income planning; signing up for Social Security and Medicare; obtaining a Medicare Supplement and Drug Plan; legal issues for retirees; and the constructive use of free time to include leisure activities, volunteerism and civic engagement. There will also be a part-time job fair offered for those who still desire to earn a little extra income during retirement.
All seminars will be held at the Senior Center located on South Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue in Salisbury. The first seminar occurs on Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. At that seminar, Cathy Foster with Victory Wealth Management will review how to plan for sufficient income for retirement. The other topics noted above will be addressed in subsequent seminars held during September, October, November and December. Persons can attend one or more, or all, at their discretion.
