LANDIS — The Board of Aldermen will consider annexing and zoning town-owned property Monday
The board will hold a public hearing, and then vote on the annexation. If passed, the board will also hold a public hearing and vote on initial zoning for the acquired property.
The board will also hold a public hearing and vote on changing the town’s public nuisance abatement ordinance.
The board will listen to presentations on a drinking water supply loan application, additional funding for the upcoming sewer project and the Rowan Express.
A contract amendment with municipal engineers for $20,143.19 for a water project will also be on the table.
Salisbury-Rowan Utilities has requested that the board consider approving the fat, oil, grease and wax program, and the board will also consider approving a statement of commitment to provide local funding for bike and pedestrian greenway projects.
The board will receive an update on the Cabarrus-Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization and on Lake Corriher Wilderness Park and the Tranquil Lake area.
The meeting agenda also includes considering a revised agreement with the North Carolina railroad for approval. The revised agreement includes the release of donated interest, the bill of sale and the landscaping agreement.
The Board of Aldermen will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at Landis City Hall, 312 S. Main St.
