KANNAPOLIS ó The Kannapolis Fire Department will hold its fourth annual open house Saturday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fire Station One, 300 Firehouse Drive.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Kannapolis Firefighters Assistance Foundation. Activities include a play area, ěAre You Smarter than a Firefighter?î games, and adult fire extinguisher training.
As part of this yearís storybook theme ěYour Home is Your Castle ó Protect Your Family from Fire,î children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite storybook character and bring gently used books for a community book drive.
Cabarrus Safe Kids will be on hand conducting Operation Medicine Drop. Bring old and expired medications in their original bottles to turn in for safe disposal. Medications will be incinerated to be kept out of the local water supply and out of reach of small children.
