SALISBURY ó Catawbaís football team is traveling to Tennessee today to face an 0-3 team in South Atlantic Conference action.

As hard as it is for the long-time SAC fans to fathom, Ken Sparksí Eagles, always a force in the league, have lost all three of their league games. The 2-3 Eagles are in dead last.
Really.
Meanwhile, Catawba (2-3, 1-1) has been playing its best football over the last two weeks. Beating UNC-Pembroke last week 42-33 was a big hump to get over for Chip Hesterís Indians. The offense, among the SACís worse, woke up.
Especially Josh Wright, who ran for a career-high 180 yards. Hester hopes that opens up the passing game this week for Jacob Charest and his brother, Nate.
Carson-Newman leads the series 34-9 but Catawba should be favored today.
Game-time is 1 p.m.

n Livingstone on road
The Blue Bears (1-4, 0-3) take a break from the CIAA and go on the road to Edwards Waters for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
While the offense only managed 33 yards in a 54-0 loss to Shaw last week, the defense somehow had the CIAA Defensive Lineman of the Week. Junior Dorian Edwards was recognized after recording 15 total tackles as the Blue Bears won the award for the secxond straight week.
Travis Holliday was the only other Blue Bear in double-digit tackles last week, finishing with 10.
The Tigers and the Blue Bears have only met twice in the schoolís history with each team taking home a victory. Edward Waters defeated the Blue Bears 27-7 in 1960 and Livingstone took home a win 14-7 in 2001.
