KANNAPOLIS ó A man was in Rowan County jail under a $520,000 bond Monday after officers found him hiding under blankets beneath a bed in his home.
According to a Kannapolis Police report, Kenneth Wade Williams Jr., 31, then attempted to run as officers were placing him in handcuffs.
He was charged with resisting, obstructing and delaying an officer.
Authorities went to the 122 Mary St. home to serve warrants on Williams for three counts of failure to appear in court and a probation violation charge.
He failed to appear in court on charges of reckless driving and resisting public officers this year; drug charges and resisting public officers from 2009; and drug charges from 2004. The probation violation charge was also this year.
