A Catawba College student was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday after he let a man use his cell phone.
Salisbury Police said an 18-year-old student was approached by four men in the college’s parking lot at 5 a.m. when one of the men asked to use his cell phone.
The man made a call on the phone after it was handed to him, the report said, but then began walking away. Suddenly, the four men began sprinting away from the student and got into a silver four-door vehicle.
When the student caught up to the men, he asked about the phone and one of the men pulled a handgun on him.
The phone was valued at $350, the report said.
Salisbury Police are investigating the incident.
