Group meets at Davidson Community College

The North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents will hold its Fall 2011 Conference on the Davidson Campus of Davidson County Community College today and Friday.
The association membership is made up of presidents of North Carolinaís 58 community colleges, with DCCC President Mary E. Rittling serving as the associationís vice president for 2011-2012. In addition to community college presidents, attending and presenting at the conference will be Dr. Scott Ralls, president of the North Carolina Community College System, along with members of his staff.
Pre-conference briefings will take place on Wednesday afternoon, with registration beginning in the DCCC Conference Center lobby at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Agenda items include community college performance measures, Code Green, Completion by Design, the Super Curriculum Improvement Project, and standing committee meetings on topics such as finance and technology.
The visitors to DCCC will also get a quick update on recent changes at DCCC. Since the presidentsí last visit, DCCC has opened its new Conference Center, Transportation Technology Center, Bookstore, Student Union space, Advanced Manufacturing CNC Machining Lab, new Welding Lab, and Learning Commons. Major renovations and additions have taken place on the Davie Campus. A land gift of 183 acres, now the Link Campus, has also happened in recent years.
Meeting participants will also visit local attractions such as the Timberlake Gallery and Childress Vineyards during their evening breaks.
