A night of improv at Black Box
Published 12:00 am Thursday, October 27, 2011
Lee Street theatre will transform the Black Box at the Looking Glass Artists Collective into a night club for three evenings of “A Night of Improv Comedy” starring Now Are The Foxes!
Performance dates are Thursday-Friday-Saturday, Nov. 3-5 Doors open at 6:45; the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
Relying heavily on audience participation the style of the show is speed-of-thought humor, where the audience provides suggestions to build the characters, guide the plots, and raise the stakes for the ever-ready cast.
Leading the festivities is Now Are The Foxes, a cast of near-equity-eligible performers from area improv comedy troupes like Charlotte Comedy Theater and Catawba College’s Where Are the Diamonds! Call a vet, because these puppies are sick: Justin Dionne, Russel Bennett, Emily Bartsch, Jacob Asher, Cale Evans, Lynne Harrell, Jamison Middlemiss, Fredric Schuttenberg, Lizzle Davis, Chris Herring, Sydney Berk, Casey Suddeth…and many more too ashamed to be named.
Every show is different, so come all three nights. Admission is $10, with student ID $5. Beer will be available.
Thursday is All-ages Night with G-rated humor that is fun (and appropriate) for anyone. The Friday, Saturday shows may contain adult language and content, so get a sitter.
Lee Street Theatre and Looking Glass Artists Collective is located at 405 N. Lee St.
