Livingstone sophomore Tyheim Pitt has been named CIAA Linebacker of the Week.
Pitt returned an interception for a touchdown and had a career-high 17 tackles against St. Augustineís on Saturday.
Pitt leads the CIAA with 99 tackles, has two interceptions and also returned a blocked field goal 100 yards for a touchdown.
Livingstone closes the season on Saturday at 2 p.m. against J.C. Smith in the Commemorative Classic at Charlotteís Memorial Stadium.
n SAC players of the week were Mars Hill running Jonas Randolph (373 rushing yards against Tusculum), Carson-Newman defensive end Zeke Andrews and Carson-Newman kicker Carlos Lopez.
n North boosters
The North Rowan Boosters Club will hold their monthly meeting on Monday Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. at North Rowan High.
n Prep soccer
Salisbury (18-1-1) will open the 2A playoffs at home against West Stanly (6-13-1).
East Rowan (7-12-3) will be on the road at Marvin Ridge (18-2-2).
First-round matches will be played by Wednesday, with second-round matches set for Saturday.
If it wins in the first round, Salisbury would play at home against Randleman or West Stokes in Round 2.
n Dolphins cross country
Sacred Heartís cross country team had a strong, consistent season in only its second season of competition.
In a two-mile run at Statesvilleís McAnderson Park, Reilly Gokey (third, 12:45), Will Murdock (4th, 12:47), Ryan Lasker(14:35) and Harrison Parrott (17:34) represented the Dolphin boys.
Bess Bryan (2nd, 14:49), Elisabeth Harper (15:20) and Anna Patel (16:40) competed for the girls.
n The conference meet was held in Hickory on a rugged, hilly 2.1-mile course, and Sacred Heartís teams finished second. Gokey (2nd, 14:29), Murdock (3rd, 15:08), Lasker (16:15) and Parrott (19:19) ran well for the Dolphins.
Bryan (2nd, 17:01) and Harper (18:15) led the girls.
n College volleyball
Catawba setter Jordan Raye was named the SACís specialist of the week. Raye had a triple-double against Lenoir-Rhyne with 38 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills.
n Livingstoneís seniors went out in style with a sweep of Voorhees on Monday. It was the final match at home for seniors Lakitta Hicks and Janell John.
Livingstone (15-15) was led by Phylicia Egbunaís six kills, seven aces and 12 digs. Natalia Felix had 21 assists.
Livingstone plays in the CIAA tournament on Friday in Hampton, Va.
n College soccer
No. 7 seed Pfeiffer upset No. 2 Mount Olive in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Monday. Pfeiffer won 1-0 in a rainstorm when Hannah Hill scored on a cross by Alyssa Wombwell.
Pfeiffer (9-9-1) plays at No. 3 Belmont Abbey on Thursday.

The Rowan Hurricanes girls basketball club will host open gym Winter Skills & Drills workouts for girls in grades 3-8, starting Saturday, Nov. 5, Competitive Sports Properties, 645 Corporate Circle, Salisbury.
