Tim Guraedy, better known as Mountain Man from the hit TV Series “Duck Dynasty,” will be in Salisbury this weekend as part of the Fin, Feather and Fur Outdoor Expo coming to the Rowan County fairgrounds.

The event starts 11 a.m. Friday and winds up at 5 p.m. Sunday. Mountain Man plans to meet and greet people Saturday afternoon.

The Post caught up with Mountain Man for a telephone interview on his way to Green Bay, Wisc. He said the weather was beautiful with blue skies, yet he was feeling a little rushed.

“It is go, go go right now, I don’t know when I’m going to get a chance to slow down,” Guraedy said.

Somewhat mired in his newfound stardom, Guraedy said, “I’d love to go fishing if there was time.”

This will be Mountain Man’s first time in Salisbury, to which he inquired, “Is that where they make those Salisbury steaks at?”

Mountain Man may not know Salisbury, but at least 700 people in Rowan County know him. That’s how many got free tickets to hear Guready give his testimony 9 a.m. Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church Family Life Center. There are no tickets left.

“I have spoke in a few churches,” Guraedy said. “Kids on drugs, alcohol, pre-marital sex — you know how it is. These young girls now and the guys are always willing to get them pregnant; 15 years old is pretty common now. I just try to give them a heads up on life in general.”

And he’s looking forward to his Saturday appearance at the expo.

“I’m not a stick-in-the-mud at the meet and greet,” he said. “I get a laugh out of them young’uns. They like old Mountain Man.”

Earlier this week, Mountain Man was in Lake Providence raising money for an under-funded youth baseball league. He likes to use his stardom to share positive information any way he can. His said his plan for preparing for hunting season is to clean out his freezer and have a cookout for the needy.

Asked whether he thought he would ever be in a national television show, Guraedy exclaimed, “not in a million years. It kind of took us all by surprise.’

Along with the presence of Mountain Man, the inaugural Fin, Feather and Fur Outdoor Expo will feature a mud bog Friday night, a country concert Saturday night, bluegrass music Saturday and Sunday, monster truck rides, RV and tractor displays and a Dodge truck test drive. Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s car will be on display.

Vendors catering to the outdoor sports market — hunting, fishing, camping, farming and more — will be on site all weekend.

Cash prizes will be given in the mud bog, which has four classes — small tire street, big tire street, hog street and renegade. Registration is $25.

The Rowan County Fair Association and Blue Line Creative are presenting the expo, hoping a good turnout this year will help make it an annual event.

Admission is $10 for anyone over the age of 12, $5 for ages 5-11 and free for children under 5. Weekend passes are $20 for adults and $10 for children.

Advance tickets are less — $8 and $3.

Active and retired duty military, police, fire and EMS will be admitted free with identification.
