Brady 50th Anniversary

John William Brady, Sr. and Carlene Whitley Brady of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 4, 2011. A dinner was held to honor the couple Nov. 5, 2011 at Ryan’s Steak House.
The Bradys were united in marriage Nov. 4, 1961, in Gaffney, S.C., by the Justice of the Peace. John retired from Cone Mill, where he was a weaver for 20 years, and Carlene retired from her own catering business after 12 years.
The couple have four children, Teresa Shinn and husband James of Rockwell, John Brady, Jr.  and wife Elizabeth of Salisbury, Paula Desmond and husband Donald of Easton, Pa., and James Brady and wife Sonya of Salisbury. They also have 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
