nStats: The Hornets average 42.5 points per game and allow 13. Starmount scores 38 points per game while allowing 13.
nBest wins: Salisburyís best came last week against Carver (6-5). Starmount topped Wilkes Central (10-1) in a recent battle of unbeatens, and East Lincoln (7-5) was a tough, first-round draw.
nHornets on the road: 5-1. The loss was at Thomasville.

nSeries: Second meeting. The first was in the 1995 2A playoffs, and the Hornets beat Starmount 26-10 in the second round. That victory lifted the Hornets to 12-0 for the first ó and only ó time in school history, but they lost to eventual state champ Thomasville a week later.
nLast week: Salisbury survived a 24-17 tussle with Carver. Starmount stopped East Lincoln 21-13.

nGame notes: Starmount was struck by injuries Friday, including one to QB Christian Hurt, the teamís No. 3 rusher. Samuel Stone is expected to step in. … Chaston Martin (971 rushing yards, 9 yards per carry, 18 TDs) and Fondae McDaniel (720 yards, 10 TDs) are serious threats for the Rams. Big linebacker Dillon Bray (three picks) and lineman Zach Worley (seven sacks) spark a tough defense. … Salisbury FB Max Allen broke the school single-game rushing mark with 294 yards on Friday and has 940 for the season. Heís third on the team behind halfbacks Dominique Dismuke (1,005) and Justin Ruffin (1,038). … Salisbury isnít deep, but LB Clint Comadoll and DB Quan Davis have done well stepping in for injured guys.
