Matthew Weaver performs Dec. 4

It’s been four years since Matthew Weaver performed with the Rowan County Concert Association — too long, for his many fans, but the good news is that he’ll soon be back on stage at Keppel Auditorium.
Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m., RCCA presents “An Afternoon with Matthew Weaver and Friends.” The friends include Trevor McKenzie, Rebecca Jones, Owen Margolis, Brandon Holder and Dave Grubbs.
This past April, Weaver saw his lifelong dream come true when he performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
In December, Weaver will complete a degree at Appalachian State University, where he also teaches part time.
Weaver was recently honored by the Granite Quarry Civitans at their annual Fiddlers Convention. He also won two first place awards for performances at the state fair this year.
He has a new CD coming out, available for the first time at the Dec. 4 concert.
Rowan County Concert Assocation season memberships or single tickets are available. Individual tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students, 18 and under. They are available at the Rowan Visitor Center, Salisbury Belk, the Literary Book Post and Frost Bites.
You can order tickets online at www.rccamusic.com.
