Catawba College’s production of “A Tuna Christmas” brings humor to the holiday.
Written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard, “A Tuna Christmas” runs Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 at 10 p.m. (after hours showing follows Catawba’s “Service of Lessons and Carols”) and Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Florence Busby Corriher Theatre on campus.
“A Tuna Christmas” is the second play in a trilogy of satires about the fictional town of Tuna, Texas. It is sometimes light and frivolous, sometimes dark and unsettling, but always laugh-out-loud funny as 22 memorable characters cross the stage.
“A Tuna Christmas” is directed by Dr. Kurt Corriher who is joined by faculty members David Pulliam, set designer; Erin B. Dougherty, costume designer; Christopher D. Zink, lighting and sound designer; and senior Meredith Avery as assistant set designer.
The cast includes Sara Coon, Jamie Caputo, Bristol Glass, Sean Henderson, Katie Higgins, Rayshaun Sandlin, Kat Campagna and Jordan Clifton.
Additional technical support is provided by Katie Hopkins, stage manager, and Ashley Jackson, assistant stage manager. Jered Shults is master carpenter and Greg Stoughton is master electrician. TyNia Brandon is first hand, and Quinn McRae is props master. John Millbank is scenic change artist.
