Whatís the big deal about voter ID law?
Please help me understand all the fuss over requiring voters to show photo IDs.
There is very little you can do without showing a photo ID. You have to show ID if you appear to be too young to buy tobacco or alcohol. Or if you use a check to make a purchase, or enter into a contract to buy on time. Of if you want to buy a fishing license or to buy ammunition.
Where were all these people who are complaining when businesses and government started to ask for ID?
I really believe that this is being blown out of proportion.

Fair is fair
If people do not wish to carry proper ID to vote in the country that gave them the right to vote, they should not be allowed to collect entitlements from that same country that provides the entitlement.
Fair is fair, period! Get real, people, or move …

Strengthening the Arc
The Arc of Davidson County has seen many changes in how people with disabilities are viewed. Changes and progress have been made and the Arc of Davidson County is committed to continuing the progress and journey that started more than 50 years ago and continue to move forward. A part of the Arc mission is to help the community understand the abilities of person swith disabilities ó providing the opportunity for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to choose and realize their own goals of where and how they learn, live, work and play.
The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion in the community throughout their lifetime.
Change that is now in the planning stage is to incorporate future growth and continued services at the Arc of Davidson County. The development project is to build a new facility for the administrative offices and house other programs to meet the needs of people in Davidson County. This facility will provide services at one location to be accessible to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers to improve their quality of life and provide support they deserve. The agency will have a more integral role in Davidson County and the surrounding communities. The achievement of the national accreditation will educate the community that the Arc is an exceptional agency, providing exceptional services to meet the needs of people. The accreditation will help as the agency moves forward with a capital campaign to secure funding for the future.
