Blackmon Lipe Wedding
CHARLOTTE — Stephanie Lora Blackmon and Gregory Alexander Lipe were united in marriage Oct. 22, 2011, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
The Rev. Clint Pressley officiated the 4:30 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Deerpond Plantation.
The bride was escorted by her father, Freddie Allen Blackmon, and attended by Kimberly Rowland of Fort Mill, S.C., as maid of honor. Her bridesmaids included Marcie Credle of Zebulon, Merrie Peyton Darnell of Wilmington, Leslie Wagner of Kannapolis, Allison Abate, sister of the groom, of Concord and Denise Worsley, sister of the bride, of Greenville.
Rickey Lipe stood as his son’s best man. Serving as groomsmen were Michael Simpson of Charleston, S.C., Chad Kirkman of China Grove, Marty Wyatt of Charlotte, Michael Abate of Concord and Jon Harris of Columbus, Ohio.
Serving as flower girl was Caroline Abate, niece of the groom, of Concord, and ring bearer was nephew of the bride Braxton Worsley of Greenville.
Guest registrar was Ashley Walter of Wilmington; program attendant was Amanda Buck of Kannapolis; and poem reader was Lauren Matera of Charlotte.
The bride is the daughter of Freddie and Debbie Blackmon of Whitakers and the granddaughter of Ferman and the late Sue Hux of Enfield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Blackmon of Whitakers. A 1996 graduate of Enfield Academy, Lora received a degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2000. She is employed by Cabarrus County.
The groom is the son of Rickey and Carol Lipe and the grandson of Fannie and the late Gene Lipe and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Alexander Sr., all of China Grove. A 1999 graduate of South Rowan High School, Greg earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. He is employed by Alexander’s Ham Company.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple are making their home in Charlotte.
