SALISBURY ó Loose leaf collection for the city of Salisbury is running a little late.
ěDue to the heavy volume of material currently being processed, collection is two days behind schedule,î Tony Cinquemani, public services director, said in a press release.
Pickup in Area III for the coming week may be delayed, he said.
ěCity crews are utilizing every piece of equipment available for leaf collection, as well as alternate resources to facilitate the quickest pickup process for residents,î Cinquemani said. ěCollection typically begins on the Monday of each week and continues throughout the week until crews have passed completely through each area at least once.î
Leaves must be raked to the curb on the Monday morning of your designated collection week to ensure proper collection. Weekly collection will continue through March 2012.
Leaves are scheduled for collection within a designated area each week, and collection is divided into three areas as indicated below:
Area I ń South Main Street to West Innes Street
Area II ń North Main Street to West Innes Street
Area III ń All streets east of Main Street
