SALISBURY — Legal woes continued Monday for a 28-year-old woman after police said she had cocaine and a crack pipe in her bra.
According to a Salisbury Police report, Amy Lauren Gillespie was arrested at 11:38 a.m. after officers investigated a vehicle parked behind an abandoned building on Lutheran Synod Drive.
Officers said they found Gillespie and Ernesto Perez Laguna, 30, in the 1991 Toyota, which had a busted windshield.
Both were questioned by officers, the report said, and Laguna was charged on citation for driving without a license.
Authorities said they found a crack pipe in a cigarette pack in the front seat and searched the two for drugs.
A female officer searched Gillespie and found a second glass pipe in her bra with one gram of crack cocaine inside, the report said.
Gillespie, 2231 Old Wilkesboro Road, began fighting and resisting officers while she was being handcuffed, police said.
She was charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting, obstructing or delaying a public officer.
Monday wasn’t Gillespie’s first run-in with Salisbury Police.
In August, the 28-year-old was accused of scratching and biting an officer who attempted to take her into custody on outstanding warrants for possession of cocaine.
A Taser was used on Gillespie during the incident as she reportedly struggled with the officer.
Police said a crack pipe was also found in her possession during the August incident.
Gillespie is scheduled to be in court Monday on separate charges of resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was in jail today under a $2,500 bond.
