SALISBURY — A 13-year-old was charged Friday after deputies say he threatened to kill his mother.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, a 29-year-old woman called authorities after her son told her “he would slit her throat in her sleep.”
The report said officers spoke to the teenager at the family’s home near Arrowwood Road.
The woman told deputies that her son has had “continuous violent behavior” toward her and her stepfather.
Deputies reported that the boy’s parents previously found two handgun bullets in his pocket.
He was charged on a juvenile referral with communicating threats.
