China Groveís First Baptist Church has announced its third annual Meal of Hope Christmas Dinner next Sunday afternoon.
A traditional Christmas meal will be served to anyone interested on Dec. 25 from 3-8 p.m. The church plans to emphasize carryouts and deliveries, so anyone interested can get the meal.
Last year, more than 200 people were served. The church hopes for 250 this year. The meal is for anyone who cannot afford a meal, and also for those lonely and saddened by events in their lives. No one will be turned away.
Not only will attendees get a nice meal, they will also have a great opportunity for fellowship. There will be special music, and a presentation of the powerful life story of Jesus Christ. Gift bags will also be presented.
Food donations again will come from Food Lion and IFH Food Service Distribution.
All activities will be in the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church, 302 Patterson St. Church members will serve the meal and provide the other activities. For more information, contact the church office staff from 8 a.m. to noon weekdays, or leave a message anytime at 704-857-5415. Church members will deliver the meals to those who need it if you provide the address and the number of meals needed. They will also arrange transportation for anyone to the church.
