Rowan investigators arrested a Salisbury man on Thursday believed to be responsible for several break-ins in the county.
According to the Rowan County Sheriffís Office, 30-year-old David Matthew Allen was arrested Thursday and charged with breaking into houses in the 2000 block of Mooresville Road and on Sherrills Ford Road.
Deputies said Allen, of 411 Mitchell Ave., is on probation after being convicted of two counts of misdemeanor larceny in July. He was sentenced to 24 months of probation.
Investigators said neighbors at one of the victimized houses reported a white Dodge Nitro was seen at the residence prior to the break-in. Deputies were told the driver appeared to be a ěclean-cut, young, white male.î
The report stated the vehicle description matched that of other break-ins in the western part of the county.
Deputies said they spoke with Salisbury Police officers, who confirmed they had also heard the description provided.
Allen was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.
He was in jail Friday under a $75,000 bond.
