The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education has a full agenda for Monday’s meeting.
Perhaps the biggest items are the modified annual budget resolution and a vote on the final authorization for the central office property exchange.
With numbers from the state budget finally in, the district’s finance department and the board must make final decisions regarding this school year’s budget, which includes cuts in staffing, but increases in teacher pay.
The board must also give final authorization to exchange the district’s current administrative office property on Ellis Street with property in the 500 block of North Main Street for a consolidated central office. The North Main Street property is owned by Lee and Mona Lisa Wallace.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to accept $375,000 from county commissioners for classroom materials and supplies and a field trip for Erwin Middle students.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations Anthony Vann will deliver presentations regarding the district’s surplus properties and the prequalifications for bidders for construction projects.
Policies about discrimination and bullying, staff-student relations and parental involvement are up for final approval, and the board will also receive updates on the budget, central office, Problem-Based Learning Institute, school reflection team visits and technology.
The board will conduct first reads on policies dealing with tobacco products, student behavior, interscholastic activities attendance and disciplinary action for exceptional children.
The board will meet Monday at 5 p.m. at the district’s administrative offices, 110 S. Long St. in East Spencer.
