CHINA GROVE ó The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted break-in at Pearl’s Pawn and Gun Shop.
Someone tried to shoot out a window at the China Grove business late Tuesday night, but did not gain entry, said Lt. Terry Agner.
Agner said an off-duty officer heard gunshots in the area and contacted an officer on duty. There was no one around the shop when deputies arrived around 11:35 p.m., but a deputy found two shotgun shells outside of the North Main Street business.
Some glass to the business was shot out, Agner said. No items were taken.
China Grove Police also assisted in the investigation.
