Catawba College News ServiceDr. Christopher Magryta, a physician with Salisbury Pediatric Associates, will speak on “Nutrition, the Environment & the Genome” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Center for the Environment facility on the Catawba College campus.
“We are constantly being bombarded with environmental pollutants,” says Magryta, “but a cure is possible through stress reduction and nutritional therapies. We have very good data that we can nutritionally detoxify many of the things we encounter.”

In addition to general pediatric care, he provides specialized care in wellness and nutrition and combines alternative medicine with traditional medicine.
Over the years, Magryta has participated in missionary work in Ecuador and Belize. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the Bread Riot, is open to the public without charge but reservations are required: allanier@catawba.edu or 704.637.4727. A reception featuring local produce will follow the presentation.
