Benefit softball tournament
The Injured Firefighter Benefit Softball Tournament will be Aug. 14 and 15 at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis. Team registration is $175.
The tournament will be a double elimination starting on Friday at 6 p.m. The tournament will be a five home run limit; balls will be provided. The winner will receive championship T-shirts, a trophy and a new Worth team bat. Participants must register by Aug. 12.
Home Run Derby registration is $15. The Home Run Derby will be held Saturday and will be 12 swings. The derby will be run as a half and half. The winner will receive a T-shirt and trophy. Payout will be determined after registration.
The tournament is sponsored by the Enochville and Locke fire departments. The recipient of all donations is a volunteer/part-time member of both Enochville and Locke fire departments who was involved in a serious motorcycle accident July 14.
