R.A. Clement Association annual meeting is Saturday

R.A. Clement Association annual meeting is SaturdayCLEVELAND ó The R. A. Clement Association will hold its annual meeting at noon Saturday at Allen Temple Presbyterian Church in Cleveland.The association was founded in 1976, and includes all former students of R.A. Clement High School. The school had its beginnings in 1880 and served African Americans in the West Rowan community until 1968.
The association’s programs include awarding scholarships to high school seniors throughout the county and supporting various projects in the community, including the restoration of the Rosenwald School Building now in progress in Cleveland.
The agenda for Saturday will include planning for the 2010 grand reunion, to be held in Salisbury July 2-3, 2010, an update on the Rosenwald School Project, the new life membership program and scholarship recipients for 2009.
Carolyn Snipes is association president, and Norris Anderson is vice president.
