Feel that Fourth of July feeling

Fourth of July activities don’t have to be focused on fireworks.
Folks in Faith have all sorts of options to choose from, including the Faith Idol competition that continues tonight. Saturday’s parade starts at 10 a.m. and fireworks are scheduled to conclude July 4th at 10:30 p.m.
You can also upload your own Fourth of July photos at www.salisburypost.com. Some of them may prove as interesting as the one Patty June Ludwig Jung has from 1946. Formerly of Faith, Jung now lives in Buies Creek.
She was on the Girl Scout float, looking toward the camera, at the first Faith Fourth of July parade in 1946.
The photo was taken near the future location of McCombs and Co. grocery looking up the street to what is now the parking lot for Faith Baptist Church.
She gave the photo to Kent Bernhardt, who posted it on his blog at http://faithnc-kent.blogspot.com/
